Earlier today Bethesda released a teaser trailer for their next game, Fallout 76. With little information aside from the trailer, there were many theories as to what the story around the new game would focus on.
According to Kotaku, a few anonymous sources have confirmed that Fallout 76 will actually be an online survival RPG with inspiration from games like DayZ and Rust.
According to Kotaku and their sources, Fallout 76 will have quests and a story and will also feature a base-building system – similar to Fallout 4 – along with other survival based multiplayer mechanics.
As Vault 76 was said to be opened 20 years after The Great War, we will likely be thrown into a world much less civilized than we have seen in previous games. While past entries have had settlements and established communities, this Fallout game will likely have a more baron and chaotic wasteland. The narrator in the trailer states: “When the fighting has stopped and the fallout has settled, you must rebuild.”
Bethesda will hopefully be revealing more, if not everything about this next entry at their press conference at E3 on June 10th.
